These instructions can be used to improve the performance of your PC. If you have problems with your PC, please run through the steps detailed on this page.

Determining your operating system

Some of the instructions on this page are specific to your operating system. Please note your OS version before continuing.

Disk Cleanup

RegClean

RegClean finds and fixes problems with the windows registry. It should only be run if you are experiencing problems with your PC.

1. Close all programs
2. Click the Start Button
3. Click IPFW Icons
4. Click Computer Maintenance
5. Click RegClean
6. Click Yes to install and run RegClean
• When it has finished checking your registry, you will see "Finished checking. Waiting to Fix Errors."
7. Click Fix Errors
8. When it has finished fixing errors it will tell you that RegClean is finished.
9. Click Exit

If after running RegClean, one of your programs which previously worked does not work, you can undo what RegClean has done.

1. Double-click My Computer
2. Double-click your C drive
3. Double-click Temp
4. Double-click Undo
