Subscribing Yourself to a Listserv

If you know the name of the list

  1. Address a message to listserv@listserv.ipfw.edu
  2. In the body of the message send one line that reads:
  3. SUBscribe nameoflist FirstName LastName

If you don't know the name of the list

  1. Go to the listserv web interface and click the link for the Subscriber's Corner.
  2. From the menu on the left, find the Show option and choose All Lists.

  4. Scroll down to see the public lists
  5. Check the boxes next to any lists you want to join and click Submit Changes.
  6. Depending on the list settings, you may have to wait for owner verification.

If the list is not public, you will need to know the name of it to join.

Sending a Message to the Listserv

  1. From your e-mail software, address a message to NameofList@listserv.ipfw.edu
  2. Example: msaccess-L@listserv.ipfw.edu

  3. Enter a subject and body as you would any email message
  4. Send the message
  5. For most listservs, you must be a member to send a message to it.

Unsubscribing Yourself From a Listserv

  1. Address a message to listserv@listserv.ipfw.edu
  2. In the body of the message send one line that reads:
  3. SIGNOFF nameoflist
