AutoComplete in IE 7

The AutoComplete feature saves previous entries you've made for Web addresses, forms, and passwords. When you type information in one of these fields, AutoComplete suggests possible matches. These matches can include folder and program names you type in the Address bar, and search queries, stock quotes, or information for just about any other field you fill in on a Web page.

In most cases, it's a good idea to turn off the AutoComplete option that stores your passwords.

  1. Click Tools > Internet Options.
  2. Click the Content tab.
  3. From the AutoComplete section, click the Settings button.
  4. Uncheck User names and passwords on forms.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click the General tab.
  7. From the Browsing History section, click Delete…
  8. From the Delete Browsing History window, in the Form data section, click the Delete forms… button.
  9. From the Passwords section, click the Delete passwords… section.
  10. Click Close.
  11. Click OK.

Be sure to fully read the prompts that appear while browsing the web. AutoComplete is most often turned on when you click Yes to a prompt asking if you want to remember passwords.
