IT Services Recommends

1. Protect your computer with Windows Critical Updates.
2. Install an Anti-virus program and keep it updated.
3. Use the Windows Disk Cleanup feature once a week and/or whenever you visit a suspicious web site.
4. Use Windows Disk Defragmenter one a month or whenever you uninstall a program.
5. Download and install at least one anti-spyware program such as Ad-Aware SE Personal and Spybot-Search and Destroy. Run these weekly and/or whenever you visit a suspicious web site or get pop-ups.
6. Practice Safe web surfing.
7. Avoid installing or using programs known to contain malware/spyware.
8. CLEAN BEFORE YOU CAN'T--the longer you leave a situation go on, the less likely you will be able to clean everything off of your computer.

FAILURE TO KEEP YOUR COMPUTER CLEAN CAN RESULT IN:

1. Inconvenience
2. Loss of privacy
3. Loss of data
4. Infection of friends' computers
5. Inability to surf the internet
6. Inability to complete school assignments
7. And most of all--loss of network connectivity
