What's New in GroupWise 8 WebAccess ?

  • Scrollable Item Lists - Your message list now contains all items in your Mailbox, rather than displaying only 20 items at a time.
  • Drag and Drop - messages can easily be dragged and dropped into folders.
  • Auto Save - GroupWise WebAccess automatically saves a copy of the item you are composing every 10-60 seconds. This is helpful if GroupWise stops unexpectedly. When restart WebAccess, you are prompted with recovery options for the items.
  • Spell Check - GroupWise WebAccess uses a new spell checker that highlights all the misspelled words in your subject or message fields. You can choose to automatically check each message you create before you send it.
  • Name Completion - When addressing a new mail message, the system automatically searches for a name when you begin to type. As you type, the remainder of the name fills in for you. This feature works off your contacts and address book helping you find a name even faster.
  • HTML Options - You can choose to view and compose messages in either Plain Text or HTML format. In the HTML format, you can quickly change fonts, sizes, and colors and add bulleted and numbered lists.
  • New Tasklist Folder -The new Tasklist folder replaces and expands upon the old Checklist folder. You can move any items (mail messages, phone messages, reminder notes, tasks, or appointments) to this folder and arrange them in the order you want. Each item is marked with a check box so that you can check off items as you complete them.
  • Calendar Improvements - You can also quickly add appointments, notes, and tasks in your Calendar and see a summary view of an item by mousing over that item. You can now create one or more personal calendars, in addition to the main GroupWise Calendar. Now you can select to display shared calendars in your main calendar view and select a different color for each calendar.
  • Message Categories - You can now choose a catagory and color to label your messages.

Help Menu for Webmail     help/options/log-out

  • GroupWise WebAccess provides an extensive help system built into the program. In GroupWise WebAccess, click on the Help link. You will see a new window open with options for Help Contents, Help Index and Search.

Security Timeout

  • As a security feature, GroupWise Webaccess will time out after 30 minutes of inactivity. Activity is measured in clicks to different pages inside WebAccess. So even if you are reading or typing a long e-mail message, because you have not navigated to a new page, the system thinks you are inactive. The next time you click on something, you may be returned to the login screen, possibly losing any messages that have not been saved.
  • You may be able to retrieve the message you were composing by clicking the back button and then copying the text from your message. Then log back into GroupWise WebAccess, open a new message and paste the copied text into the body of the message.
  • If you know you will be composing a lengthy message in Webmail, it is best to type the message into Word or WordPerfect. When you have finished typing, you can copy and paste the text into a new message in WebAccess.

Unopened Items Folder

  • The Unopened Items folder is a time saving feature of GroupWise. Many people have rules that send new messages to folders in the cabinet. Rather than opening each folder to read these messages, the Unopened Items folder will allow you to view all new messages in one convenient location.

The GroupWise 8 WebAccess Interface

  • When you log in, the Mailbox tab is displayed by default. Here, the left column lists all the folders; clicking a folder name will display the folder items in the right column.

  • To perform an action (Open, Reply, forward, Update, Delete, Accept, and etc.) to an item, right click the item and then click one of the actions in the the item list. Mailbox
