Proxying in GroupWise
GroupWise allows you to grant other GroupWise users access to your account. You can utilize these features in the GroupWise client and in webmail.
Granting Proxy Access
- Click Tools > Options.
- Double-click Security.
- Click the Proxy Access tab.
- In the Name box, begin typing the last name of the person you want to grant access to.
- When their name appears, click Add User.
- In the Access list, locate that person's name and click it.
- Under Access rights, select the read and write access you want the person to have.
- When complete, click OK.
- Click the Options button (top-right).

- Click Proxy Access > Add Entry
- Click the Address Book to find the person's name.
- After Last Name Begins With, enter the person's last name and click 'Search'.
- Click the radio button in front of the person's name, then click 'Select'.
- Click OK.
- Select the access rights you want the person to have.
- Click Save.
- Click Close.
Accepting Proxy Access
- As a proxy, you will be able to gain access to another's mail or calendar by clicking the Online drop-down menu (above your folders list).
- Click Proxy.
- Add the person's username to the proxy list and click OK.
- If you have been granted proxy access, you will now be taken to that person's account.
- If you have not been granted proxy access, you will receive an error, "Access to user username@ipfw.edu is denied"
- To toggle between your account and another, click the Online drop-down list and either choose your name or theirs.
- From the GroupWise WebAccess main window, click the Proxy icon.
- The Proxy list contains the names of all users whose Mailboxes you've previously proxied.
- If the mailbox you want to proxy is listed in the Proxy list, click the name.
- If you know the desired user name, you can simply enter it in the Name field and click Login.
- If you don't know the person's username, click the Address Book button to find it. Once located, click the Login button.
