GroupWise Notify
GroupWise Notify is a utility that will alert you when you have new mail in your GroupWise mailbox. It opens after you log into the network and will prompt you to enter your password. Then it runs in the System Tray and either looks like a globe (no mail) or a letter on a globe
.
Installing Notify
- Close all open applications.
- Click Start > IPFW Icons > Email > Installs > Install GW Notify
- Follow the prompts on the screen.
- When the install is complete close all open windows and reboot.
- The next time you log in, you will be prompted to log into GroupWise Notify and you will then see the GroupWise Notify icon in your System Tray.
Using Notify
- When you receive a new message you will see a pop-up. Alarms on calendar items will trigger a pop-up 5 minutes before the appointment.
- You will also see a small icon with an envelope on it in the System Tray.
- Click the icon to launch the notify dialog box.
- You will see a list of all unread messages.
- You can read and/or delete messages from the notify dialog box as well without ever opening GroupWise.

Changing Notify Options
- To change options in Notify, right click the Notify icon in the System Tray.

- Choose Options.
- You can change how often Notify looks for messages, how long it displays the pop up, what folders to look in for new messages, etc.
- On the Notify and Alarms tabs, you can select a sound file to play when a new message.
- You must make sure the file selected exists on your PC in the location specified.
- Your sound card must be installed, speakers turned on and the volume up loud enough to hear it.
- Remember, some sound files can be irritating to those who sit in close proximity to your computer. Be considerate when choosing sound files.
