Keyboard Troubleshooting
Problem: Stuck Keys
Possible Solutions:
- Make sure nothing is sitting on the keyboard
- Power the PC off and tap each key a few times
- Check to see if any keys appear to be loose
- If the problem is severe, it may be easiest to purchase a new keyboard
Problem: Letters on screen do not match what you typed
Possible Solutions:
- If you have a programmable keyboard, turn off Num Lock, Caps Lock, and Scroll Lock. Then, press: Ctrl + Alt + Suspend Macro (all three keys at the same time). Suspend Macro appears near the Num Lock key.
- Try typing again. If your keyboard is still working improperly, try the following:
- Press: remap
- Press Alt twice, Ctrl twice, and press Remap. Wait until the Program light is off.
- Press Ctrl + Alt + Suspend Macro (all three keys at the same time).
- Try typing again. If the problem persists, try the following:
- Power off your computer.
- Hold down the Macro key while powering on your computer.
- If the problem is still not cleared up, try the following:
- Turn off your computer.
- Unplug your keyboard from the back of the unit.
- Wait 2 minutes.
- Plug the keyboard back into the unit.
- Turn your computer back on.
