Problem: Disc will not read
Possible Solutions:
- If you have a CD drive, make sure the disk you are trying to use is not a DVD. DVD's won't play in CD drives. CD's will play in DVD drives.
- If the CD/DVD is scratched, it may be unusable.
- If the CD/DVD has fingerprints on it or is dirty, clean it with a soft, lint free cloth.
- Try rebooting your PC
- Try accessing the CD/DVD in another computer
- If it's a custom CD, some CDROM drives, especially older ones, are unable to read custom burnt CD's.
- Is there an error message related to trying to access the CD/DVD?
- If the disc is one you have burned and you are trying to read it in a PC that does not have a CD burner in it the disc may not be finalized.
- If the CDROM is unable to read various different CD's that seem to be in good condition and readable on other computers a technician may need to come look at the drive.
