Turnitin

Turnitin, as one of the new additions to the IPFW teaching/learning applications, has been used by thousands of institutions in over 80 countries. It proves to be a powerful online tool for instructors and students alike as a means to not only prevent plagiarism, but also, more importantly, as a means to better equip students with the important knowledge of proper and effective way to conduct research and cite resources.

Instructors or students can submit electronic versions of paper/essays to turnitin.com, which compares the paper/essay to its vast database of published articles, as well as other databases of electronic journal, which results in a detailed report of matches and similarities between the submitted piece and the sources in the databases.

on IPFW campus, Turnitin is integrated with eLearning (formerly WebCT), which enables instructors and students to use it directly from eLearning interface as an additional Assignment Tool. If you have any questions regarding Turnitin, please contact CASA, CELT, or ITS.
