
Purchasing Components for
IPFW Departmental Computers
This document is intended to provide faculty and staff with information and tips on the transition to a new/different computer connected to the IPFW network.
Additional or Upgraded Components
Departments needing upgrades or replacement parts for university-owned computers should contact the IT Services Help Desk for assistance in obtaining needed equipment. The cost for these replacements will be billed to your department account number through the IT Services Campus-wide Computing re-charge process. Sorry, no personal purchases are accepted.
The following products are available to departments through the internal IT Services Stores process:
- Memory
- Isobars (4 or 6 outlet surge protectors)
- Printer Cables
- Modems
- Video Cards
- Hard Drives
- Ethernet Cards
- Power Supplies
Glare screens, wrist rests, keyboards, diskettes and printer supplies are easily available through IPFW Stores (Office Max catalog) or Follett's Bookstore. If Stores or Follett's don't have it, the IPFW Purchasing department can find it from another vendor.
Replacement Components
IT Services Hardware Technicians are authorized to complete or process Gateway, OmniTech, Dell and Apple warranty repairs. Repairs for laptops and monitors are typically shipped to the manufacturer's service center.
