Student Access Computing Facilities

Software

The Student Computing Labs have a variety of software packages available including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, graphics, and statistical programs. Additionally, software for specific classes is also available. Documentation for many packages is available online.

All software in the labs is accessible by clicking the Start Menu and then choosing Student Access Labs at the top of the menu. The software is grouped by type for easy access. The same software is available through the Application Explorer icon on the desktop of all lab computers. Clicking an icon will install the program if it is not already installed on the PC.

Student are encouraged to install software they need for their classes onto the lab stations. However, some programs require administrative rights to install, which students do not have. If students are required to use a specific software package for a class and cannot install it themselves due to rights issues, it is recommended the instructor of the class get the software installed in the lab.
