ITS Workstation
Loan Policy

[Standards last approved: January 3, 2005]

Guidelines:

  1. Loaner Workstation is available when:
    • Critical department production workstation is down for repairs
    • Repairs are expected to take more than 48 hours
    • No other department workstation is available to compensate
    • Department is in a critical business cycle

  2. Borrower is responsible for any damage to or loss of equipment.


  3. Privileges to borrow loaner equipment may be revoked or suspended due to the following:
    • Repeatedly returning equipment late
    • Returning equipment that is damaged or incomplete

  4. Use of Workstation
    • Workstation can be borrowed for a maximum of 2 weeks
    • Workstation will have MS Office, Banner and Internet Explorer installed
    • Email can be accessed via my.ipfw or webmail.ipfw.edu
    • Borrower will authenticate to the network to use the workstation
    • Borrower should save files only to their I: or O: drive
    • Any files saved to the C: drive will be deleted by ITS in the cleanup process

  5. Request to borrow equipment must be authorized by department's Vice Chancellor, Dean, Director, or Chair. Request can be made to ITS Help desk via phone 16030 or email helpdesk@ipfw.edu
